 Chief Deputy Jim Bumpus Honored

For Service During Vietnam War

Jim Bumpus was recently honored for answering the call to duty during the Vietnam War.  Mr. Bumpus was honored with a medal, medallion, and certificate in recognition for his sacrifice and struggles during a difficult time for our country.

He received a Letter of Recognition from the Headquarters, Missouri National Guard, a certificate from our Governor - Matt Blunt, and a medal and medallion authorized by our State Assembly.

On behalf of all United States citizens we thank Mr. Bumpus for all that he sacrificed to serve our country. He answered the call to serve his nation and by doing so made a respected example for those who serve today.

Please don’t forget all those who sacrificed and served our country in past and present.

Classes Offered For

Concealed Carry Weapons

  

   The Butler County Sheriff's Department is sponsoring Concealed Carry Classes. The classes will be held at the Butler County Justice Center. Anyone interested in attending should contact Mr. Jim Akers at 573-989-4090. Mr. Akers has been trained through the Missouri Sheriffs Association and is very qualified to teach this class. He has been actively involved in Law Enforcement since 1995. Mr Akers has received his fire arms training from Semo Law enforcement academy,United States Army Police and Mineral Area Law enforcement Academy. The cost for the class is $100.00. A portion of the money is contributed to Law Enforcement Training.

 recently received a grant from our local 

 Wal*Mart Store. Presenting the grant

 from Wal*Mart is Front-End Assistant

 grant for the Sheriff's Department is D

 Deputy, Kellis Thompson.

 We would like to thank Shelly Brown

 from Wal*Mart for working with us to get

 us this extra money. The money is

 usually used to help purchase equipment

 for our Deputies.
